Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you start.
What is the referral payout?
$100 total per qualified referral.
  • $50 paid weekly (typically the Friday after your referral schedules and pays)
  • $50 paid in May after tax season once the return is completed
How many people can I refer?
Each participant may refer a maximum of 5 people
How will I get paid?
Most payouts are sent via Cash App.
  • You’ll enter your Cash App username in the referral Jotform.
  • If you don’t have Cash App, you can request any other payment instead.
When/how and on what day are referral payouts issued?

The first $50 is paid the Friday following the date your referral schedules and pays. Weekly payouts go out on Fridays (for referrals that scheduled and paid that week).

When do I receive the second $50 payment?

The second $50 is paid in May (after tax season) once the referral’s tax return is completed.

What makes a referral “qualified”?
A referral is qualified when they:
  1. Schedule an appointment, and
  2. Pay for services, and
  3. (For the May payout) their return is completed
Do they have to mention my name?

Yes—your referral should either:• Use your link (if provided), or• Enter your name on the referral form, or• Tell the team your name during schedulingTip: The safest route is using the referral Jotform so nothing gets missed.

Can I refer someone who is already a client?

No. Referrals must be new clients only to qualify for the referral payout.

Is there a deadline to submit a referral?

Referrals should be submitted before or at the time your referral schedules. If submitted after they’ve already booked, we may not be able to match it correctly.

What if my payment details are wrong or need to change?
If the Cash App name is wrong, payment may be delayed. Contact support and provide:
  • Your name
  • Your referral’s name
  • Correct Cash App name
Yes. If you need to switch from Cash App to ACH (or vice versa), notify the team as soon as possible to avoid delays.
How do I know my referral qualified and why might payment be delayed?

In most cases, you won’t get automatic notifications—but you can request a confirmation if needed. (Some teams also send a quick “your referral is booked” message.)

Most common reasons:
  • They haven’t paid yet
  • Their appointment isn’t scheduled
  • Their name doesn’t match what was submitted
  • Cash App handle is missing/incorrect
  • They were an existing client
What happens if they schedule or pay but dates change?

The weekly $50 is triggered only after they schedule and pay.

As long as they’ve paid, your first payout should still process (timing may vary slightly depending on when payment is confirmed).

Can I refer myself (using a different number/email)?

No. Self-referrals aren’t eligible.

Can two people claim the same referral?

Only one person can receive the payout per referral. If multiple people submit the same person, the team will use the first verifiable submission (or the one the referred client confirms).

Are there any restrictions on who I can refer?

Referrals must be legitimate individuals/businesses seeking tax services. Any abuse (fake referrals, duplicates, etc.) may result in disqualification.

Does the referral payout count as income?

Yes—referral payouts may be considered taxable income. If needed, you may receive tax reporting documentation depending on total annual payout amount.
